Livia Massuda Kutsher, MBA, CAP, serves as director of planned giving and endowments at Temple Emanu-El in New York City, where she helps individuals and families create meaningful legacies while advancing the long-term future of one of the world’s most renowned and historic Reform Jewish congregations. Her expertise spans planned and blended gifts, endowments, tax-smart and non-cash giving, donor engagement, and philanthropic strategy.

Before joining Temple Emanu-El, Livia served as assistant director of planned giving & endowments at UJA-Federation of New York, the largest local nonprofit in the United States. She also held senior development roles at American Friends of Magen David Adom and ADL (Anti-Defamation League), with a focus on major gifts and donor relationships. Earlier in her career, she worked in sports media, focusing on marketing and client relations.

Livia holds the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) designation and a certificate in Nonprofit AI Fundraising. She earned an MBA in marketing from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business, an M.A. in sports management from New York University, and a B.A. in economics from Tufts University. She is a member of the Philanthropic Planning Group of Greater New York (PPGGNY) with additional interests in the psychology of giving and emerging trends in philanthropy.  

The granddaughter of Holocaust survivors with Ashkenazi roots in Romania, as well as Sephardic roots in Egypt, Livia brings a deeply personal commitment to strengthening Jewish life for generations to come.
